Tabata whata?!

4 Oct

Well, last night’s meal was a HUGE success! Jon really loved the fish… in fact, ate half of mine! I’ve been on the verge of getting sick. Totally crazy because I never get so sick that I do not eat. So tonight it looks like I am going to pass on cooking and hopefully grab something slightly nutritious from somewhere out and about.

Moving on…

How about that iphone!? We were so excited to finally hear about the new release date. However, I was a little disappointed. The 4GS will have to do for now I suppose instead of the 4G. In fact, anything is better than what I have now… I have a very “dumb” phone. I get made fun on frequently because the only thing I can actually do successfully is sent a text.

How about a workout?

For those who do not know what Tabata is-here we go. Tabata is a 4 minute extreme cardio release in 8 intervals of 20 seconds and 10 seconds rest. The easiest way to time yourself is with the Gymboss timer (check these out on Amazon). Or there is a timer on your iphone (if you actually have one!) Tabata is typically used with big muscle workout methods (lunges, burpees, squats). Below is an example of a Tabata workout I have done a few times. Be prepared to hurt!

Tabata leg challenge:

-Burpees with push up (20 sec)

-rest (10 sec)

-Kettle ball swings with squat (20 sec)

-rest (10 sec)

-Burpees with push up (20 sec)

-rest (10 sec)

-Kettle ball swings with squat (20 sec)

-rest (10 sec)

BONUS– do one more set of burpees 🙂 Just because they are awesome!!!

Fave quote- Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else. (Judy Garland)
