Tuesdays with Ronald: 5 Rules of Happiness.

Found a bunch of inspirational quotes. Thought I would share!

...so true

Everybody has unique strengths.

What you feel in your heart.

Correction, fast, easy, cheap and HOT!

I try to stay mindful of this all the time.

So true

It sounds simple but sometimes a good quote can put the little things into perspective. Looking back at this year I have needed a little inspiration from time to time.

I haven’t  too much cooking lately. Been living on a lot of clif bars and cereal. 🙂 It’s too cold to cook! More recipes and goods to come.

Beauty Finds and Other Goods

6 Dec

I thought I would share a list of all my favorite beauty and health products. This list is forever growing so if you have something special to share please post a comment.

1. Olay

I love this product because it is light but effective!

2. Mac Studio Fix

By far my favorite makeup!

3. Multi Vites

This is such a good alternative if you cannot stomach vitamins (like me!)

4. Olay Pro X

I just purchased this awesome product! It is a slight alternative to the clarisonic (I have heard it isn’t as good.) However, I have never used one so to me this one is awesome  and a fraction of the cost.

5. Bath and Body Works Body Cream

Inexpensive, and keeps your skin moisturized in those winter months.

6.Crystal Deodorant

I know people who live by this stuff! However, you do have to train your body to respond.. it doesn’t work right away so I recommend using it at night and still applying regular deodorant in the morning. It drastically keeps you more dry!

7. Vaseline

So many uses! Lips, eye creases, eye lashes, etc.

8. All Soft Cream by Redken

For all you curly/unruly haired ladies. Put this stuff in afer a shower, blow dry and BOOM! Awesome hair 🙂

9. Almay Bright Eyes Base

Awesome for those black circles.

10. Lancome Juicy Tubes

All time favorite.

That’s all for now! 🙂 More to come…

All warm and cozy

Well, the time has come to bust out all the holiday favs! Tonight I had a lovely batch of homemade hot cocoa… so delish I can’t even put it into words! I attempted to make an actual cup of Abuelita hot cocoa, however, once I read the ingredients and all that it took to make the darn cup I passed. And so the birth of the homemade hot cocoa is here:

Homie Hot Cocoa

Almond milk- enough to fill an average sized mug

2 packets of stevia

 1.5T of unsweetened cocoa powder

*Heat the almond milk in a mug for about 2 min.

*Mix in remaining ingredients.

*Pop back into microwave for 30 more seconds.

I did complete one task today:

A new jewelry holder!

This is soooo easy to make. Simply grab a frame and cork board, thumb tacks, fabric, and your glue gun.

1. Measure the cork and fabric to fit the frame and cut.

2. Cover the cork board with fabric

3. Place inside the frame.

4. Grab tacks and hang jewelry!

** Note: you may need to double up on the cork to make it thicker if it isn’t already.

Happy decorating 🙂

Serious workouts for the not so serious people

30 Nov

Hello friends. The week is flying by! All my teacher buddies and I are counting down the days till we are on VACATION! I’m still working on our home decorations and attempting some exciting ideas I posted about on Saturday’s post. So far none have been successful. Other exciting news:

Yes! They still have pumpkin items out at the grocery store…

Even though pudding is totally artificial.. it was a nice change. One I don’t think I would do again. But for 88 cents I say it was worth the chance.

Maybe it’s the holidays, cool weather, or the fact that I need another vacation but I have been so bored with our eating and workout routine. In hopes of changing things up, I have been working at trying some workout videos and changing up my typical menu. I’ll be posting some new recipes for you. For now, check out this super easy breakfast idea.

Oats and berries

1 package original oatmeal

1/2 a banana

1/2 C of black berries or berries of your choice

1 T of honey

2/3 C almond milk

*Prepare oatmeal with almond milk as directed

*Chop up black berries and bananas and add to cooked oats

*Drizzle honey and stir to combine

*Indulge 🙂

Moving on! Well, I have created a killer circuit workout that may not be so intimidating to the non- workout enthusiasts. Try it out! You need a tabata timer (search apps on your smart phone) or search “gymboss” on amazon.

Serious Circuit

*Set your timer to 8 rounds/20 sec-10 sec rest

Jumping Jacks

Jump Squats

Lunges, left and right alternating

Kettle Ball Swings

Push Ups

Mountain Climbers

*Complete the full tabata 3-4 times!*

Jon and I completed this workout on Sunday. Easy and effective!

That’s all for today! Adios!

Back to the daily grind

29 Nov

Well hello there! It’s me again. Today was my first day back after a nice long week of rest and relaxation. I really feel like this was one of my best vacations yet. So much was accomplished and I still got to relax in the process. It’s the little things that I am beginning to cherish about vacation..like sipping coffee slowly while watching the news, reading my favorite magazine on the porch, playing with the pups, or just spending time with family.

If I had a dollar for every funny thing I heard on an average day of work let’s just say I would be very rich. Until that actually happens, I will enjoy getting my daily chuckle while at work.

Funny sayings from today (just off the top of my head):

Boy: “I should be the leader today because I’m handsome.”

Me: Tell me things that remind you of the holiday season.

Girl: “ummmm. Princesses in pajamas. “

“Teacher, I peed on myself a little.”

So did anyone find a great cyber Monday deal? I only found one…

You get two magazines for a year for only $6… 🙂 Yay!

I was tempted by the katespade sample sale found here

I was also thinking of purchasing a new printer… then I got to the website to find they were sold out. So sad.

Happy shopping!

One last thing.. we developed our Christmas photo only to discover two very creepy sets of doggy eyes. I guess it will have to do 🙂
